Own a piece of history from AlemedaCalifornia Naval Air Station Airman, who bound two (2) pilots manuals togetherduring training in the 1940's. Some pages rearranged so many of the foldouts are in the last pages for his convenience. Heavy stock separates the manuals and serves as the front and back covers. The front cover has the Airman's name and ID and some marks and notes in pencil, as well as some slight rings from cans resting on manual at some point. While the covers show some dirt and handling marks, the pages inside are free from damage and markings (some extra fold crease on foldout). You are bidding on both a TBM-3 Avenger AN 01-190EB-1 dated November 1945 and a AN 01-85FB-1, Pilot’s Handbook for Navy Hellcat Models F6F-3, F6F-3N, F6F-5, F6F-5N Airplanes, revised 15 December 1947. The original manual is dated 15 May 1947. Both manuals are all original pages – no photocopies. The manuals include descriptions of the aircraft and its systems, normal procedures, emergency procedures, description and operation of auxiliary equipment, operating limitations, flight characteristics, and systems operation. Black-and-white photos, illustrations, tables and charts are used throughout the manual to present the information. Some multi-colored charts and diagrams are included.
