This corrugated cardboard box once held one of the most desirable postwar engines ever produced by Lionel. The box measures approximately 18-3/4" long and features an insert as well as Lionel wrapping paper to protect the Jersey Central. The number 2341-15 is clearly printed on the side. That same panel sports the St. Joe Paper Co. manufacturer's certificate with a 6 at the bottom indicating a 1956 year of production. It is square and strong with all flaps present and firmly attached. The open end has a NO. 2341 stamped on it. The other end is still factory sealed. There is some staining along one edge along the top where the word "TOP" is lightly written. There are a couple of faint stains but nothing bad. There is a layout diagram faintly visible on the bottom. The insert liner is missing one of the fold down flaps at one end. There is no staining on the insert. It is complete and strong. The large piece of wrapping paper is original with ribbing and a waxy finish on the non-printed side.
