This no reserve auction is for an original Lionel 810 Derrick Car in its original box. Lionel produced the 810 from 1930 – 1942. Features of this specific car date it to 1936. This car has been examined and authenticated to be original by a member of the TCA Standards Committee.

This piece has been around the layout a few times and shows some play wear. The paint is all original with nicking at high points. There are some spots of color variation on the red roof and green boom. One of the die cast cog wheels for the boom needs replacement. The wheels, knobs, string, hook and tackle appear to be original. All nickel journals and trim are present. Some spots of rust on the wheels. One coupler needs a new connecting spear. Even with its flaws this 810 still makes a nice display piece. Please view the photos for additional descriptive detail.

This late prewar car will certainly make an excellent addition to your collection. It would also make a great gift for your favorite Lionel collector. Please check out my other auctions for other nice 800 series cars and boxes ending within a few minutes of this auction.

Buyerpays $12.75 for S&H. Please note that I will gladly refund excess postage if the estimate provided is $1.00 or more above actual cost.

If you would be interested in selling or consigning all

I have been a member of the TCA for 25 years so you can . I am in the process of thinning out a lifetime train collection that started in the early 1970’s. It includes many rare and unusual items most of which are very high quality in original packaging. Some examples are a boxed 460P Piggyback Platform, boxed 3356-150 Horse Corral Platform, dealer and factory sealed items, as well as many pre and post war boxed sets. Most of my collection is Lionel with some Ives, American Flyer and other manufacturers represented. I do not have a collection list to share at this time.

When practical, multiple items may be sent together to save on shipping costs. All items are carefully packed and typically shipped via USPS priority mail, first class or parcel post within 3 business days after payment clears. I reserve the right to select the shipping method at my discretion. Shipping is not a profit center for me so if I overestimate the cost I will gladly refund the difference of any full dollar amounts. Payment via Paypal is expected within 3 days unless other arrangements have been made. eBay rules require you to inquire about alternative payment methods. TCA member are given special consideration.

I am willing to work with buyers on any reasonable request. My objective is for both of us to have a positive experience. Questions during the auction are encouraged as returns will be accepted only if the item is not as described. Your inquiries are very important to me and I will make best efforts to be prompt and thorough with my responses. However, because train collecting and eBay are not my primary business my ability to continuously monitor and quickly respond to eBay related communications may be limited. Kindly allow for a reasonable response time to your questions. Alternatively, please feel free to call me at – ask for Pete.

I appreciate your interest in my listings. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
