Original 1924 Maxfield Parrish ~Wild Geese~ Print w/Frame Up for auction is this very rare original Maxfield Parrish print titled"WILD GEESE" complete in the original frame with labeling! This was published in 1924 by Reinthal & Newman of THE HOUSE OF ART at 59 W. 19th Street, New York. Reinthal & Newman, the owners of THE HOUSE OF ART who printed Parrish's works. "WILD GEESE" was produced during the 1917-1934 time frame that many experts agree was the period that Parrish grew to the status of most reproduced artist of the 20th century. Typical of the iconic style of Maxfield Parrish, a lovely young women gazes at a spectacular rocky mountain scene. The model is this particular work is actually Kitty Owen, the granddaughter of William Jennings Bryan. She also posed as the reclining figure in DAYBREAK, as well as INTERLUDE and all the figures of LADY VIOLETTA in the Knave of Hearts. This original frame measures roughly 16-5/8" x 14-7/16". As you can see, it is quite typical of the style of frame that were standard with his works. The brown paper backing is intact just as it was glued in place 86 years ago at the HOUSE OF ART. The original Reinthal & Newman label is attached. The print has never been removed from the frame~ It is in EXCELLENT condition with beautiful bright colors, no fading, staining, foxing or any other issues. It
