"SPECIAL WHEN LIT", artist is Anne Laddon, 1979. numbered 110/120, GOTTLIEB'S DRAGONETTE limited edition serigraph. Image is from the pinball machine designed by Roy Parker. Framed 22 1/2 x 32 1/2., with glass. The D. (David) Gottlieb "arcade game corporation of Chicago, Ill and was established in 1927. Initially produced pinball machines. D. Gottlieb & Co., were the eminent manufactures of these machines. Eventually they were bought out by Columbia Pictures and then in 1983 Coca-Cola Co. acquired Columbia and the Gottlieb arcade machines were renamed Mylstar Electronics. By 1996, it was all over and the company ceased to exist. This particular pinball machine was created in 1954. If any of the originals machines survived, they would be very valuable. The have survived in a sense through the wonderful art of Anne Laddon. Ms. Laddon was noted for her silk screens and wonderful serigraphs. This is one of her limited edition signed and numbered. The signature is not part of the image. It was signed in pencil and it original. This is a fun and colorful piece that it is in Very Fine (Mint) condition. There is a slight glare from my camera which maybe seen on those close-up images.
