Original Rare Potschapel Dresden CARL THIEME Porcelain MUFFINEER c. 1901

A stunning rare Carl Thieme porcelain hand-painted muffineer. A muffineer is essentially a shaker; it is a small container with a perforated top which was used toshake out powders such as salt, sugar, and talc in a controlled manner. This piece was produced and hand-painted c. 1901. The birds, facing different directions are hand-painted as well. The piece measures just over 5 1/4 inches high and 2 inches in diameter at the base. It is a bulb or onion shape. It has a screw top for filling. It is marked with the Potschappel Dresden mark on the bottom. It is an extraordinary piece of Dresden porcelain.
