AN ORIGINAL BURT GLINN PHOTOGRAPH Of Jack Kerouac, New York 1959 HAND SIGNED BY BURT GLINN! This Rare Original Vintage Silver Gelatin Print is offered framed and matted. An original photograph of the "king of the beats" Jack Kerouac. One small closed tear to upper right hand corner, well in the margin and not affecting the image, otherwise fine. A unique look into the bohemian New York scene of the late 1950's through the eye of Burt Glinn. The image size is 8"x12", printed on 11"x13 paper. Frame/mat 16"x20" Versatile and technically brilliant, Glinn was one of Magnum's greatest photographers. He first made a name for himself in 1958 when he flew to Havana, Cuba on New Year's Eve after hearing that the dictator Batista had fled and group of revolutionaries led by Fidel Castro was about to march into Havana. Glinn was able to get close enough to Castro to take compelling images of the rebel leader in his Army fatigues during the first days of the country's upheaval. He received numerous awards for his editorial and commercial photography, and his work is held in the permanent Collections of the International Center of Photography and the Museum of Modern Art, New York City.
