1940’s sundress and bolero which my late aunt would haveworn handmade by my grandmother. Found packed in a suitcase and selling as found. Cotton fabric with colourful flower heads and leaves on a white background and apart from a few stitches giving way the dress is in very good condition. The stitches on the left hand side centre front seam has given way (about 3cms) and need re-stitching. The ends of the straps to the front are finished off and not attached to the bodice front. These were held in place by a safety pin each to allow for adjustment. The darts at the back of the bodice have been let out slightly and re-stitched back leaving a small tuck in the bodice. The old stitch marks are visible and need pressing out. Side zip measures 7½”. As the dress is handmade difficult to say exactly what size it is but I would suggest fit dress size 12. Length from top of bodice back to hemline measures about 32”
