This Orpheum mandolin is American made and of the Strad-O-Lin genre. It dates from around 1938 and is all original ( original uncompensated bridge is not currently fitted, but will be included). In great shape for it's age. No obvious issues in terms of cracks, separation, frets or neck, etc. Tuners are a little stiff, but perfectly functional. The top is solid spruce. Nut width is 1 3/16 inches, scale is 13.5 inches. String clearance at 12th fret is 1.5mm. Fitted with new Thomastik Medium strings. These are highly regarded mandolins in terms of playability and tone (check the web and you tube) and the two points are generally thought to be the best. Pretty versatile in terms of sound, but probably suits bluegrass or blues best. Welcome to try out if you live in the area. Much better sound than from a new mandolin that might go for a similar price.A padded gig bag is included and it will be well packed and sent by Parcelforce 48 in the UK for £20. Other countries need to apply for shipping rates.
