Volumes 3 and 4 of The Collected Essays, Journalism and Letter of George Orwell, edited by Sonia Orwell and Ian Angus. Published by Harcourt, Brace and World, Inc., New York, 1968. Both are first edition books with dark blue cloth covered boards and gold text on front panel and spine.
Volume 3: As I Please, 1943 - 1945. Very good minus, first edition book in good plus dust jacket. Several stains on board spine. Bump on lower left front corner. Extremities and fore-edge corner tips are lightly rubbed. Stains and foxing on all page edges. Light foxing just starting on paste-downs and end papers, else book is internally clean and text block is sound. Dust jacket is heavily stained on back panel. Back panel is completely separated from jacket spine. Spine is heavily sunned and has significant loss. Fore-edge folds are rubbed through in several place. Closed tears and loss on fore-edge corners. Not price clipped.
Volume 4: In Front of Your Nose, 1945 - 1950. Very good plus, first edition book in very good minus dust jacket. Boards are clean with minimal rubs on along edges at head and tail of board spine and fore-edge corner tip. Small bumps on front and back upper fore-edge corners. No foxing.
