A circa 1919 Valve with '5094G' painted inside the glass on the stem, and 'Osram GEC', 'Made in England', ' RAF' and '?9317' etched on the outside. The base is copper with 4 pins. One marked 'P', another marked 'G'. It is 54mm diameter, and 111mm high. Answer to question:Theglass does not appear locally blackened, as if by extended use or overheating, but seems uniformly slightly tinted.( Could it be lead-crystal glass ?) It is not as dark as the photo shows- it was taken with a cheap child's camera in bright sunlight, as my Nikon has broken. Terminal 'P' goes to the outside of a 9mm diameter tube. Terminal 'G' goes to BOTH ends of a spring inside the tube, and the other two go to either end of a thin filament through the centre of the spring : there IS continuity through this thin wire.
