Up for auction without reserve and low starting price is a complete Vintage Padre Art Pottery Spouted carafe with lid & wood handle strapped with metal on leather. This is an absolutely beautiful California pottery piece that measures 9" tall including lid, with a bulbous body measuring approximately 6" at widest point. It has a matte green glaze in excellent condition, three oven stand marks on bottom and is marked PADRE 195. No chips, cracks or damage of any kind to the pottery itself, though the wood handle has a crack along the grain starting from the top & ending at the outside screw, the metal strap is rusty and the leather gasket has turned black and crazing. I have seen three of these over the years and these condition issues appear to have occurred on all three, even with the condition issues I believe this is an excellent piece of old California pottery. I saw one that recently sold on eBay for a good price even though it was missing lid, handle and strap. have not attempted to clean this item other than wiping with a damp rag, but I believe it will clean up quite nicely with only a little bit of effort.
