Tim Brown, a self taught black American artist from Mississippi, was born on August 4, 1923. In the late 1970's he started painting memories of his childhood from the 1920's to early 1940's. He started doing this because he had no pictures of his youth and wanted his memories to be seen. This work is a bit out of the ordinary for Brown. Called "Bring Down the Flag", it depicts his belief as to what should be done with the Confederate flag that flies over the South Carolina state capital. This is a bit of a controversial piece as he has a KKK member painted in the piece as well. It measures 15" x 12". It is acrylic on plywood, as most of Tim's work is. He is not easy to find, but when he is, he is worth the investment. Add this wonderful artist to your collection. Good luck and good bidding. Please note that the actual shipping charge is $12.95
