Pair BASALT WEDGWOOD VASES Black Vase 19th Century


Dating from the 19th Century according to the appraiser.

These are trumpet style flower vases with flared top opening.

The impressed mark WEDGWOOD is on the underside of each vase

Along with what appears to be an initial "W".

This small mark is difficult to decipher with accuracy

Even with a loupe.

Both vases appear to be in MINT Condition!

No apparent cracks, crackling.

Please note: T is a chip as shown in picture on outer edge

Of the inside lip of one vase. Again it is pictured.

They have a tapering cyclindrical form

With a flaring rim on a footed base.

The molded design in relief is of branches and leaves.

The design is on both sides of the vases.

Approximately 9 1/2 inches tall.

Matte Finish.

Diameter of flared top opening is approximately 4 5/8 inches.

Diameter of underside of base is approximately 3 3/4 inches.

These vases belong to a friend of mine who inherited them

From an elderly aunt who traveled the world and purchased

Exquisite glassware on her travels.

They have been packed away for decades.
