Old pair of Dutch Wood Shoes. These shoes are signed by various men that were part of WWII. They were found a an estate sale along with other vintage items from the 40's and 50's. I usually gravitate toward the kitchen items but these shoes caught my eye. After getting them home and researching the names I found military members from the Allied Forces of WWII. Some of the names are not legible but the ones that are intact I found these: Warrant Officer (W.O.) R. L. Stark, Ronald Leslie Stark was the Commanding Officer of the Royal Air Force for S Company, 1st Parachute Battalion during the Battle of Arnhem. Dr. Ross Gunn, a physicist, who was known for his development of nuclear propulsion or the "fission chambers." Dr. Gunn was the Superintendent of the Aircraft Electrical Division during WWII. A sample of his signature was found on the National Academics Press website. Captain Edward Jones U.S.A.A.F. Lt. Col. Frank A. Roper 7509th Air Base Squadron Royal Air Force. Moe- Morris "Moe" Berg Office of Strategic Services and a member of NATO's advisory group for Aeronautical Research and Development. Polish Cavalry Officer Gutowski. Dutch Army Alfred Herman Yunker "Shorty" 1st. Lt. Robert W. Stalcup. Air Force Pilot. Colonel John Riley Kane "Killer" 9th Air Force pilot. Arthur Smith, Negro member of the 477th Anti Aircraft
