DESCRIPTION: For auction is a wonderful pair of mid-century, Danish modern lounge chairs with a teak frame and original blue-green wool upholstery. This pair is in amazingly great original condition. The streamline modern design is pure Scandinavian. Each chair also retains it's original removable headrest. The headrest is supported by a weighted pouch that hangs over the back of the chair, keeping it in place. No maker's marks or labels but one chair has a "made in Norway" brand on the underside. DESIGN HISTORY AND CONSTRUCTION: Other Scandinavian designer construction details are evident. The long flat broad armrests are reminiscent of Wegner and Juhl. The angled backbone of the chair is a Larsen element. The upholstered seat section attaches to each arm piece with two bolts. T is a curved wood spacer between the front arm sections and a round wood peg spacer separating the back arm from the upholstered section. T is a small screw (original) that attaches the back of the seat section to the underside of the arm. The seat and back padding are foam. T are metal springs as seat support, not webbing. DIMENSIONS: 38" tall x 28" deep x 28" wide. Each weighs approx 30 lbs. CONDITION: The chairs are in excecllent original condition. Extremely little wear. The upholstery has no rips, tears or repairs. One very light spot on each chair.
