im selling a few genuine old water colours by paul braddon, the info i was given with the portfolio they came in was - Paul Braddon (1864 - 1938) (Pseudonym for James Leslie Crees). A Folio of Eight Original Watercolours (circa 1885), titled and signed in ink by the artist, 'Haunts of Charles Lamb'. The watercolours are all signed to the reverse by Paul Braddon with detailed descriptions of each scene. The paintings reflect locations relevant to Charles Lamb's life, e.g. birthplace, marriage, residence, burial, etc. Charles Lamb (1775 - 1834) was an essayist and poet and a long associate of Samuel T Coleridge. These watercolours represent a historical record of Lamb's life. Paul Braddons work is the be found in many British museums, including Birmingham, Edinburgh, The Bronte, etc. During his lifetime he was popular in America where a substantial amount of his work was sold. PLEASE NOTE I AM LISTING THESE PAINTINGS SEPERATELY, THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE ONE SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS, ITS MOUNTED ON CARD, SOME DISCOLOURATION, CARD MOUNT MEASURES 54.5CM LONG BY 40CM HIGH, painting is about 27cm long by 19cm high. creases on corner of card, would be good framed, surely a very good investment for the future. i may offer the rest of the collection to the highest bidder or i may list seperately if this has some interest.
