This is one of my favorite jackets, but the fit is a little too snug for me. I've got another (less cool) one that I'm keeping. This jacket has the original Talon zipper. The alpaca lining is wearing away in places as with most original WWII deck jackets. This jacket has a great patina that I wouldn't dream of cleaning, but you could.There are a million cheaper copies of this jacket out there, but this is the real deal. This jacket took into account the lessons from two brutal years of warfare at sea. Alpaca fur was used as the lining material and the longer torso length gave greater protection from the elements. A new cuff design incorporated the knit cuff hidden up inside the sleeve, thus keeping the knit from snagging while still keeping out the cold wind, and the frontal jacket closure was now facilitated by a zipper as well as buttons. A drawstring at the jacket's bottom edges kept the wind out more effectively than the old knit band, all the while eliminating the snagging problem associated with knit bands, and gusseted armpit areas with eyelet vents provided
