I have been consigned to sell a collection of items which were part of an auction held in Ardmore , OK in March of 1999 of Peter Riedel's estate as recently advertised on . This auction consists of some very unique items including many signed photos and letters written by HANNA REITSCH, PETER RIEDEL, ERNST UDET, AND WOLF HIRTH.

For those who don't know the story, in post WW1 Germany, motorized flight was prohibited by the treaty of Versailles . Flying enthusiasts from all over Germany started meeting at the Wasserkuppe (Mountain Range in Germany) to learn soaring and gliding. Among the first were such notable aviators as Heinrich Dittmar, Wolf Hirth, Peter Riedel, Frederick Harth, Greonhof, etc. Many of the soaring distance and altitude records were set and broken by this group. Many of the famous new glider designs came from this group. Peter Reidel built his first glider at the age of 14.
