Peugeot Folding Bicycle

For your review is a classic 1977 Peugeot Folding Bicycle in the traditional Peugeot white that is in remarkably well preserved conditon. This Model featured a 5-speed derailleur and 22" (550A) tires that gave it a significant advantage over most small wheel folding bicycles from the period. Additionally, the bike has a longer wheelbase than most of the competition and all these factors gave it a very comfortable ride as well as making it a much better all around bicycle. I have seen this style Peugeot sometimes referred to as a D-40 Model, however whatever the exact Model number this was clearly the top of the line in Peugeot 40 series bicycles.

Typical of the French made bikes of the period, this Peugeot came fully equipped from the factory with front and rear racks, integrated generator with headlight and tail light, Peugeot bell, tire pump and Mafac tool kit. Quick release levers on the handlebar stem and seat post mean the height of either one can be adjusted in seconds with no tools. The attention to detail of this Peugeot bicycle is really remarkable. These bikes make a really outstanding around town bicycle or shopper and would make a wonderful addition to any Peugeot collection.
