Measures approx. 5 inches x 8 inches. xvi, 700 pages plus Indexes: i-lx. Some decorated head & tail pieces. Dedication To the Honourable Jospeph Collet, Esq; Governor of Fort St. George . Binding / reading copy. Front board detached, some loss of leather to rear board, wear to top & tail of spine. Rear hinge cracked. Rectangular piece, 3 inches x 2.5 inches cut from the blank front endpaper. Closed page edges browned, age dusty. Lower edge of first few pages has water stain & increasingly faint traces of this to some other pages. Pages age-toned, some browned. Scattered foxing, the odd mark or small flaw. Inscription on fpd: George Lanceley Barrow, October 1854 & same name of ffe date 1846. Text block
