Portrait of Arena Stage Actress, Marie Carroll

Marie Carroll was a familiar face at Arena Stage during the early 1960's. Having performed in Misalliance, The Madwoman of Chaillot, The Caucasian Chalk Circle , and The Moon in the Yellow River , she staked her claim to part of Arena Stage's rich history. These performances all took place during the 1961-1962 season, which was the first season performed in Arena's current Fichandler Stage.

As we move into the next phase at Arena, it is appropriate that we remember Marie Carroll who was an important part of the first season in this building. The painting is approximately 16"x13" and framed. Along with the painting come unique and poignant letters from friends of Carroll who cared for her in her final days before she died in 1977.
