You are bidding on a post WWII Polish Order of Polonia Restitvta Medal -5th class (Cavalier) , from the People's Republic of Poland 1943-1989. The order is used but in excellent condition and comes with approximately 4" inches (10cm.1 cm) of ribbon that is in good condition. The award order was officially created at the end of WWI, and is considered a high level award. It was awarded to those contributing to the restoration, or building of Poland , outstanding meritorious acts, long meritorious service and sometimes for acts of bravery. The order could also be awarded to foreigners. The Order of Polonia Restitvta came in 5 classes; 1) Grand Cross with Star, 2) Commander's Cross with Star, 3) Commander's Cross, 4) Officer's Cross and 5) Cavalier's Cross. This medal would make an excellent addition to any Cold War or collection of Polish orders or decorations. Be sure to take a look at my other auction for more interesting and collectable militaria. Good luck and happy bidding!
