You are bidding on a Polish WWII Cross of Lenino. The medal is used but in excellent condition with approximately 6"inches (15.2cm) of original ribbon that is in good condition. The medal is made from a silver color alloy. The cross was established on May 26, 1988 to commemorate the Battle of Lenino, which was located in Byelorussia . The battle was fought on October 12, 1943 and was the first battle in which the units of the Polish People's Army, that were formed in the Soviet Union fought German forces. The and color of the ribbon is the same as Division colors of the 1st Kosciuszko Infantry Division which took part in the battle. This medal would make an excellent addition to any Cold War or WWII collection of Polish orders or decorations. Be sure to take a look at my other auction for more interesting and collectable militaria. Good luck and happy bidding!
