PR. BRONZE J. L. LAMBERT BOOKENDS SITTING BULL BOOKENDS GRIFFOUL N. J. CASTING

J. L. LAMBERT PAIR OF BRONZE SITTING BULL BOOKENDS c. 1915. There are 2 desirable castings of these, one by Gorham in 1914, and these a bit later. After these, there were many other variations, but not of this quality, hollow, plated, iron, etc. These are sold bronze, 9 lbs. each. A pair sold here recently, but they have scooped out backs. The last pair identical to these, that is cast by Griffoul, sold in an internet auction for $750 a few weeks ago. Lambert is a listed sculptor. Finish is all original and intact. These are of the highest quality. Picture 2 shows J. L. Lambert Scp. (I hope, picture is dark). 3 has Griffoul, Newark, N. J. Just a thought I had, on all my looking on the net, no one has said which casting is first, though the Gorham's say 1914. They would be great is a Mission setting. They are 7.5 inches high.
