I am very reluctantly putting my prewar cast aluminum American Flyer 9900 Burlington Zephyr set up for sale. Includes later model 9914 long engine with the sliding door, 9911 baggage car and 9912 observation car. This set has the brass weights on each of the axles to try to rectify the earlier issued set's tendency to tip over on corners. Solidly operator grade, but all original down to the wheels, exhaust stacks and decals, and it works beautifully. Could polish out the scratches on the tops of the engine and cars, but I kept them for patina and originality. You can tell this set has been loved and used through the years, but not abused. I'm selling at a buy it now price for quite a bit less than I paid for it 4 years ago, and priced very fairly by market standards. Since then, it has only been used each December on my under the Christmas tree train layout. Very sad to see it go, but I'm hoping once the economy rebounds I can buy another. Here is a You Tube link to a video I shot of it today running, stopping and starting again to show how smoothly it runs. /watch?v=-HP1xg7uiww This is a 5-day auction, but using the Buy It Now option will guarantee that you do not miss out on this jewel of a set. Please ignore the shipping charges listed - the calulator is always wrong. Shipping is at cost, insurance extra. If you win, please
