We are very pleased to offer for auction is this Wonderful Primitive Wooden Tote Carrier in Old Style Blue and Mustard Paint with No Reserve ! It is made of Southern Heart Pine. The Patina is wonderful, the kind which only comes from age and use. About 100 to 120 years old, this carrier was well used for many, many years. The handle and all edges are worn wonderfully smooth from much use. The handle is a divider creating two sections. The paint is not old but an Old Style Blue paint which has been oxidized and aged. The center board which has the handle has been painted an old style mustard. Not having cardboard boxes or plastic containers found everywhere today, 19th century homemakers and farmers used handmade wooden boxes and totes to store and carry items in. This primitive made-by-hand wooden tote being offered here could have served any number of purposes around the farm or at the workbench or even in the barn. This tote measures 34 1/2" wide,11 1/2" deep and 8" high. This Primitive Wooden Tote looks great holding candles, herbs, textiles or all your picnic fixin's!
