CHRISTOPHER RADKO'S FINEST SERIES STARTED IN 1993 WITH AN ORNAMENT INSPIRED BY THE POPULAR CHRISTMAS CAROL, "PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE". Christopher Radko's First Decade book states: "Significant milestones in ornament design occurred in 1993 when Christopher Radko introduced new resources and launched a new series and family of collectors ornaments. For the first time, collectors could enjoy German ornaments that hadn't been available since the 1920's, and Italian ornaments that were last made forty years earlier. Innovative ways of decorating were made possible with Christopher's newly rediscovered Czechoslovakian figural glass garlands. The new Twelve Days of Christmas "A Partridge in a Pear Tree" added enchantment to the trees of 5,000 collectors." #9,358 of 10,000 You are bidding on one brand new "Two Turtle Doves" ornament, that has never been removed from its original plastic protective cover. The original box is included with this auction. A lot of retailers threw away the plain looking white box only to find out years later that those little white boxes add great value to the ornaments overall appeal for serious collectors. All of the ornaments in the series are surprisingly tall at 7". Only "Three French Hens" and "Eight Maids a 'Milking" are smaller at 5" each. Comes from a non-smoking home and stored in acid free tissue.
