Raphael 19thc Oil Painting Madonna Della Seggiola Carved Gilt Frame
A lovely nineteenth century Religious oil painting after the renowned Raphael, depicting the famous 'Madonna Della Seggiola' which shows Mary embracing the child Christ, while the young John the Baptist devoutly watches. Indistinctly monogrammed and dated 1890 to lower middle. The painting is of wonderful quality and is well presented in a period carved gilt frame, which compliments the piece well.
The canvas has craquelure and there are two small pin holes to the canvas, but these are hardly noticeable. The frame edges are a little brittle and will need some light restoration.This would make a great christmas present and is ready to hang.
