Description This auction is for an Antique 1827 King James Bible w/Family History/Genealogy. Antique bibles are always in demand, not only for the quality and the fact that it is an older version of one of the oldest books still in print, but because they sometimes have family records. This particular one has records of a Crown family that appears to have some connection with Huntington, Long Island in New York. The earliest birth on record is a Samuel Crown in 1805. Samuel was married to a Charlotte Tucker (Charlotte Crown). The records stretch as far as 1938 with the death of an Ernest Crown-Gibson at the age of 62. As a book, this bible is in very good condition, especially for its age. Some of the pages are brittle and should be turned with care, and the first few pages before Genesis are not attached to the binding. They are, however, included. This book was published in Boston by C. Ewer and T. Bedlington in 1827. It was purchased by Samuel Crown at a shop owned by Jon Leavitt on 182 Broadway, which we assume is in New York.
