This porcelain milkpitcher was produced in Franceby Haviland Limoges between 1879 and 1889. T are two printed marks and an impressed registry mark on the bottom. The pitcher is 7 inches high. The porcelain is molded with an unusual rope shaped handle attached to a high relief anchor. The pitcher is factory decorated with a transfer of Japanese influence. T is a beautiful lady in traditional kimono, small objects and a floral arrangement. These are all colored by hand. The handle, rim and other areas of the pitcher are trimmed with pink enamel. T is a minute loss of pink trim on the back of the pitcher. T are no other defects. This is a rare and lovely antique piece of Haviland for your consideration. A friendly ebayer provided us with more specific information about this pitcher: The set this pitcher comes from was designed by Felix Bracquemond. The original print by Bracquemond used for these geisha designs is dated 1868 and is titled Treize Graces Japonaises or The Thirteen Japanese Graces. T were, thus, said to be 13 different geishas that were used on the Haviland sets.
