Large Icon of Christ with Four Great Prophets of the Old Testament and Fourteen Smaller Icons of Christ's Life in One Eastern Greek Orthodox This beautiful icon depicts Christ -He Who holds all. Christ's vestments have two colors indicating His dual nature as God and man. His hallo has the three Greek letters O WN, which means 'He Who is'. The icon of Christ is very detailed and the colors are beautiful. The central icon of Christ is surrounded by 12 smaller windows-icons depicting the Twelve Feasts of the Lord (the major events from His Life in regards to our salvation), i.e., The Annunciation, The Nativity, the Entrance into the Temple, The Theophany, The Entrance into Jerusalem, The Transfiguration, The Crucifixion, The Resurrection, The Deposition from the Cross, The Burial, The Ascension and The Pentecost. These 12 Feasts of the Lord are usually depicted on the upper panel of the 'iconostasis' that separates the Holy Altar from the main Church. At the top of the icon t are smaller icons (1'' x 1'') of St. Demetrios and St. George killing the dragon as well as a small Cherubim angel (2 1/2'' x 1/2'') between them. The windows of the icons are outlined by a grapevine pattern in relief with an elegant gold-colored finish.
