Rare Hotpoint vintage portable sewing machine with beautiful housing made of genuine quartersawn oak with decorative filigree still attached. Looks like it was just used; the thread is still on it. Missing the plug end on the electrical cord so I'm unable to test it but it certainly looks like it works fine; everything moves freely. Beautiful Japanned finish on machine; storage area on right with sliding oak lid is filled with sewing bits, thread etc. Includes attachments as shown in a separate metal box. Interesting swing away motor drives the wheel, tucks away nicely underneath the head for travel. Handle is fine; lock on left works great, veneer has minor chipping on top right and the varnish is worn in spots with age darkening on the work surface but that's it as far as the oak. I assume Hotpoint made very few sewing machines as I am unable to find any information anyw on them; I bet t's not too many left. Don't miss out. Measures 21" X 9 1/2" X 13 1/2" tall. Shipping will be in two boxes as I am afraid to ship the top with the rest. Weighs 40 lbs unboxed so take shipping into account when bidding, Pick up in NE OH or I can deliver to central PA (State College Area) for $10. Check pictures over carefully and you will see what a remarkable opportunity this is for the right collector. Any questions email me and I will do my best.
