by Sargent & Co. of New Haven, CT from 1910-1918. Shawsâe(tm) design provides for precise adjustment of the frog
by means of a screw. This patent predates by nearly four years Edmund Schadeâe(tm)s April 19, 1910 patent for an
adjustable frog that was applied to Stanley planes beginning in 1907. It is possible that the existence of Shawâe(tm)s
patent delayed the grant of Schadeâe(tm)s. The top of the frog of the plane offered has been broken and lost. The rest of the plane is in good condition.
