For your consideraton, a really nice 10 gallon Red Wing Water Cooler. I believe this is at least pre-1936 in that the Union Stoneware Co. label was discontinued after that date. I am not a Red Wing stoneware afficiando, so I can only relate what I see on this piece. It has no cracks, and rings like a bell when tapped. The cracks in the photos are glazed over, showing the typical Red Wing manufacturing process. The lid also is crack free, hairline or otherwise. T is one indentation in the lid which is glazed over(in the pic at the 2 o'clock position) and one fleabite on the lid that appears to have been an airbubble that burst after manufacture(in the pic at the 12 o'clock position). The rims of both the cooler and the lid are chip free. I believe it to be salt glazed with the imperfections of that glaze. Nice cobalt blue coloring. Unfortunately, no spigot. The inside of the cooler is stained along the walls, and looks like it was used for ice tea, but the inside bottom is bright and clean. The lid appears to have been kiln burned to one side. T is a small chip out of both the handle areas from the bale handles, and these are shown in the pics. Actually, that is about all I can say negatively about this item.
