Beautiful Refinished Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Working Lock & Key Here we have a really beautiful refinished dome top or camel back steamer trunk from the mid to late 1800's. We have removed some of the metal from between the slat boards to expose the wood beneath. The trunk appears to be made up of pine base wood, oak or ash outer slat boards, and the dome appears to be early ply. All of the wooden surfaces have been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood is in pretty good condition with some minor typical older nicks and dings, mostly concentrated on to the outer slat boards. H ere are the following measurements of this trunk: from left to right across the front is 30 1/4 inches, from floor to topof dome is approximately 26 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 19 inches. The fancy metal parts along with the other metal on this trunk are not brass and have therefore been brush painted in black and gold leaf. This trunk has nice vertical slat boards running up the front, giving this trunk a nice unique appearance. This trunk comes with the original working lock. We have matched up a key that DOES activate the lock mechanism. The front latches are nice looking and do work properly.
