Very Well Preserved, Electronically Restored, Retro/Art Deco Pre-War Firestone Midget Tube Radio-Plays Great! This a nicely preserved, beautifully figured brown bakelite Firestone tube radio Model S-7402-7 (Circa 1941) which looks beautiful and plays great. It's a cute little Art Deco midget measuring a mear 5 3/4" high x 5 5/8" deep (including knobs) x 8 1/4" wide. This radio is not often seen on ebay or anywhere else. So few were made, that it's also very hard to find in any reference books. The only reference that I have found is on page 93 of Mark Stein's Tabletop Radios Volume 4, which was published in 2003. It has been restored electronically. All of its old wax and paper capacitors have been replaced. All tubes and resistors have checked and replaced if found bad or out of specifications. The off/on/volume control and tuning condenser have been cleaned and lubricated. It also has a new power cord. The dial light is fully functional. The cabinet has a nice patina and is in good condition. It has one tight 1 1/2" hairline crack on the top which has been repaired and reinforced with commercial grade epoxy and is very, very hard to see.
