Welcome to Niceties, LLC and Happy Holidays! You are bidding on a gorgeous Rogers Avon pattern 5 piece tea set and matching tray manufactured in 1901. All of the pieces bear the mark of Eagle Wm. Rogers Star. This mark was used by William Rogers from 1841 to 1847 when the mark was again changed. Rogers merged with International Silver Company in 1898. Even after Rogers left International Silver they maintained the patterns and re-produced many of them adding their mark and "IS". This pattern does not have an International Silver Mark or the "IS" mark. The tea and coffee pots were smaller as coffee and tea were quite expensive and it was considered a delicacy rather than the way we consume it today. Note the unique combination of beading added to the beautiful gadroon pattern trimming the pieces in the set. These pieces are becoming more and more rare and valuable. This is a wonderful opportunity to own a piece of history. Details: Manufacturer: Wm. Rogers and Company Marks: Eagle Wm.
