ROYAL CROWN china IMPERIAL 55/884 GOLD tea cup/plate

W do I begin? This is just an unbelievably beautiful set of snack plates. I love the shape of the plates, (the cut out for the thumb to rest when carrying). It is unusual. These plates measure 9 1/8 inches in diameter, with a gold design of 1 1/8 inches, plus the inner, thin gold band. Each 7 ounce cup stand 2 7/8 inches tall with a design width of 1 inch, not including the inner thin band. The plates have a circular indention for the cup to rest. Marked on the back of each piece is:

ROYAL CROWN IMPERIAL 55/884, (in gold lettering) with a Crown symbol and an R or trademark symbol.

Most pieces also have a blue and gold sticker with a crown symbol that reads:

These pieces have incredible lusture and I believe are done in 22 carrat gold. However, I do not know anything about these pieces, except what I have found online. They are VERY similar to the ROYAL CROWN DERBY IMPERIAL design 1924.

At any rate...these pieces are in EXCELLENT condition showing only VERY minor wear. Honestly, I do not see any scratches or signs of use. The only thing I do the gold on the outer rim/edge of the plates, around the finger "cut out" , and on the brim of the cups, looks maybe to be fading, or scratched. This may be an imperfection of the make, or it may be from storage.
