Royal Doulton rectangular sandwich serving plate. This plate used to belong to my grandmother who had a complete set of it. Sadly I only have this plate and also a small, square sandwich plate which I have also listed on eBay. Unfortunately this plate is in fairly poor condition with several chips - as shown in photos 2, 3 & 4. According to the back stamp this plate as manufactured some time between 1901 and 1927 - although more likely it was the latter part of this date range. The registered pattern number is 116918 and there is also the number "11" printed on the base of the plate. There are also some handwritten numbers in green but they are so small that I can't make out what they say. Starting this plate with a low reserve owing to the chips on one end of the plate and also on the reverse of the plate, half way along one edge. There is a lot of crazing to this plate and also a good degree of discolouration too. Such a pity as it is a lovely plate.I have Cut and Pasted below the information regarding the back stamps from the Royal Doulton website. Introduced in the latter part of 1901 to mark the grant of the Royal Warrant by King Edward VII together with the specific right to use the word ROYAL to designate Doulton products. This mark was in general use at Burslem between 1902 and 1922. On smaller wares, only the bottom half
