This is a gorgeous and very high quality hand painted Royal Vienna porcelain plate. The plate is delicately painted with a classical scene featuring two figures against a pastoral background. The entire scene is hand painted - NOT transfered on. The plate is signed "B. Herbig" in gold. The border is green and has an elaborate raised gold design with white enameling. The back of the plate has several marks - an overglaze blue beehive mark, a stamped "F B WEIN Austria" mark, an impressed "MGR" (?) mark in a circle surmounted by an impressed "25", an enameled "418," three impressed slash marks, and the title in red - "Tankread und Armida." The plate measures 10 1/4" in diameter. It is in great condition aside for one small chip on the edge, which measures just under 1/2" long (please see the photos - this is not too severe and does not detract from the aesthetic appeal of the plate). T is no wear to the gold or enameling and no scratches on the plate. Circa 19th century. This plate comes with a plaster frame, which is circa 20th century. The frame completely conceals the edge chip, as you can see in the images below. The frame is included with the piece, but it will add about 2 pounds to the package, so it can be omitted if desired. The frame is in good condition with a small flake in the lower left corner. Frame measures 15" x
