Rufe Davis Autographed photo   Description You are bidding on an authentic autographed Rufe Davis 8x10 black & white photo from the historic Oliver Tucker Autograph Collection. This is an older photo and auto with some glue stains on the back. Rufe, who portrayed the conductor-fireman-brakeman of the Hooterville Cannonball and partner-in-blunders with engineer Charley Pratt (played by old friend Smiley Burnette), was an accomplished imitator of more than 200 sounds, all realistic enough to cause considerable confusion among innocent bystanders. He played and sang with Lennie Ayleshire, then Charlie Weaver, then Bill Baker.
In 1940 he started appearing in one of the best old movie western series ever made..."The Three Mesquiteers." He is best known as Floyd Smoot on "Petticoat Junction". Rufe also appeared in a few episodes in the companion series Green Acres.
Oliver Tucker of Mullins, South Carolina was a well known autograph collector for over 50 years.
