I finished this unique piece of art, which was made by the mighty Saguaro, it reveals the marvelous inner beauty of the Saguaro What a great conversation piece, it is a small boot with the saguaro ribs attached, from an arm of a saguaro. Smaller birds build their nests in these. Made from a saguaro boot, the boot is formed when the Saguaro has an injury and heals over the injury creating a tough heavy callused structure, the boot. This boot was home to many small birds The ribs are still attached around the boot. A few areas are accented with crushed turquoise Please visit my store for more art objects, thanks for looking Saguaro crosses, walking sticks and other art objects are lovingly handcrafted to highlight their natural rustic characteristics, by nature they are twisted, bent, cracked and with worm holes. Each one is unique, no two the same. Light weight and strong. Finished with 3-5 coats of clear spar finish and hand sanded between each coat, most have areas that I have selected to inlay with turquoise. The Saguaro cactus grow only in the Sonoran Desert of the Southwest. Very slow growing as little as an inch a year, taking up to 75 years to develop an arm.
