SALVADOR DALI 'HAND SIGNED' WOODBLOCK ENGRAVING

We are havingan even bigger clear out.

This is a rare and original ‘hand signed’ (in pencil) woodblock engraving by Salvador Dali.

The piece comes from the Divine Comedy Suite by Dante, illustrated by Dali and is an EA.

The title of the piece is ‘The Blasphemers’ Canto No.14 from HELL.

The size of the picture is 12” x 9”.

It has been gallery framed – overall size is 20” x 16”.

The mounts are in conservation board, and the distance from the glass to picture is approximately an inch. There are a couple of marks on the edge of the frame but some gilt cream will take care of them. The black paper covering the entire back of the frame had a slight tear and was taped over. This is purely cosmetic as the backing board (behind the black paper) is firmly sealed to the frame.

The colouring on this piece is particularly vibrant and of the ten pieces I now own, this is the one I least wish to part with.

The piece comes with a certificate of authenticity from Gallery du Monde, Hong Kong, where I originally purchased it back in 1986.

There is no reserve so bid wisely.
