San Francisco Customs Official German Vote in 1884 Blaine Campaign Letter ALS

I am currently listing the contents of a letter archive once belonging to the Republican National Committee. All the pieces in the file were written by prominent Republicans during the 1884 election year in support of the Blaine-Logan campaign. The letters were sent from a number of states and their authors include governors, sheriffs, U.S. Senators, U.S. Representatives, mayors, lawyers, black newspaper editors, ethnic organizations, and local leaders. Many of the letters have significant content and were sometimes addressed directly to Blaine. Every letter in this collection was written after the 1884 Republican Convention which was held in Chicago during the first week of June. The majority date from July or August. In addition to their incredible content, a number of the items were beautifully written on distinctive or official letterhead. I don't have to tell you how unusual it is to find this quality and quantity of political documents all relating to one event. PLEASE NOTE: I do NOT close auctions early, and I do NOT add buy-it-nows. Any requests for special consideration will be ignored.
