HI, This Auction is for the large two blade Melon Tester pattern pocket knife made by the Schrade Cutlery Company Walden,New York. This knife measures just shy of 4 1/2" in the closed position and features chip and crack free Cracked Ice handles. This knife has never been used, carried or re-sharpened.The bolsters are Nickle & Silver and the pins & liners are Brass. The blades are made of Stainless Steel and do have decent opening and closing snap, especially the smaller Pen type secondary blade.I have a picture of the tang stamp and etching on the Master blade. The reverse is SS 700 Stainless. The print is light on the front scale, but it reads Louie Gould Ma. 3-1273.He must have been either a sales person or the owner of Gould Citrus.I think that you could very easily take a black marker and color it back in if you so desired. This old knife is in great collectible condition.T is a few very light spots of age patina on the back spring, but it would buff right off I think. The handles or the bolsters are not beat up either. The condition of this old knife is a rare find indeed.According to my book the knife was made from 1946-1973.The shinny spot on the blade in one of my pictures is only a flash shine. Thanks for looking and have a Great Day! (I have other knives listed) |
