Offered For Sale to the Highest Bidder.... or, Buy-It-Now! This is a single, very large, fulgurite specimen from Sedona, Arizona. I have found numerous specimens of this size- category in the event-deposits that I have collected from, plus a few others while hiking, but they are extremely rare to find with such quality detail and solidity as this piece. All of the fulgurites that I offer were surface collected, with minimal disruption to the soil. I will not be presenting another specimen of this size and overall quality anytime soon. This specimen weighs just about 480 grams, or 13 ounces. It measures just slight of eight inches long (7-7/8" = 20 cm), at roughly 2 inches mean diameter. This one embodies some nice character with its red rock concretions, with spider-web fulgurite formations on the rocks, and pores on the ends. Also, one end shows the red color leached from its core, to a whitish color, from the iron oxide bonds of the red sediments having been broken by the electrical current, at time of formation. This is a solid specimen, with rich terra cotta coloring in the hue that the Sedona area is famous for. The fulgurites that I offer are the calcarious type from thesoils of the red-rocks; the Hermit Formation. They are never vitreous or glassy in appearance.
