This is one of the Mexican Soldier shako's that was worn in the outstanding ORIGINAL movie 'THE ALAMO' from 1960. This shako has been refurbished and is ready for it;s next movie. This movie starred John Wayne, Richard Widmark, Richard Boone and Lawrence Harvey. I am showing pictures of the shako front, back and sides. The sixth picture is a snapshot taken during the filming of the movie in 1960. The last is a picture of the artist sketch of what John Wayne wanted the soldiers to look like. The pictures are NOT included in the auction. The shako is a size 7 3/8". This movie was made in 1960 and was John Wayne's first as a director. This movie has all of the basics with love, hate, drama, morality, political rhetoric-all rolled into one without explicit sex and bloody violence. Considering this outfit is over 40 years old, it is in great condition.This is a battle worn shako ..
