Original 1932 Japanese woodblock print by Shiro Kasamatsu titled "Misty Evening at Shinobazu Pond" This woodblock print of Shinobazu Pond printed mainly in blue tones, was designed by Shiro Kasamatsu, a contemporary of the artists Kawase Hasui and Hiroshi Yoshida. It was published by Watanabe Shozaburo in 1932 and was one of Shiro's most popular shin hanga designs. This particular print has a Watanabe D seal in the lower right margin, indicating that it is a rare early edition, not one of the later reprints that is commonly found on the market today. The D seal was used by Watanabe from 1931-1941. This print is in fair to good condition with some light fading and some minor foxing spots throughout the image. The print size is oban, approximately 10 x 15 inches. The print is unframed and unmounted. Shipping within the US will be $15.
