This beautiful Victorian yellow gold heart locket is marked "W. & S.B." with a star logo, made by the W. & S. Blackinton Company of Massachusetts*, circa late 1800s. Measures 1-1/8" wide by 1-1/4" long, large bail is 1/4" long, smooth satin softly frosted satin finish. Front has very ornately engraved script letter A, back is plain. Inside has two rose gold frames with plastic covers to hold photos. Opens from the left side, snaps tightly closed. Near mint condition with very minimal age patina on the inside edges, appears to have been rarely if ever worn. Has been carefully tested, assays to at least 10K content and quality.
